Application Assessment
The AA Admissions Committee will assess the quality of the applicant based on the areas of Leadership, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills. Preference is given to applicants who have work and/or volunteer experience in the arts or non-profit sector or related fields either during or after completion of a bachelor's degree program. The Program Director and the AA Admissions Committee may make exceptions to admissions policies on a case-by-case basis.
MASTER OF FINE ARTS (On Campus)
All applications received for the MFA track will be reviewed by the AA Admissions Committee beginning the 1st week of February each year.
Applicants who make it past this first "paper" stage of the admissions process will be contacted directly by the Program Director beginning the 2nd week of February to schedule an interview. We suggest the interview take place in person, but can be arranged virtually on a case-by-case basis.
Interviews are held during February, March, and April, and include class attendance, meetings with various stakeholder groups, and tours of campus and our professional affiliate organizations.
The full Fall cohort is completed and acceptance letters sent during the last week of April, if not sooner. Acceptance letters may start going out as soon as March 2nd, but that is not common. Remember, admission to the MFA track is very competitive as we only accept 4 to 6 students per academic year.
