Health Professional to BSN Program

This program is designed to prepare students for a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) and eligibility to apply for Registered Nurse licensure in any state.

The HP to BSN program is a 3-semester nursing program, completed over four semesters (summer, fall or spring, & summer), completing in less than 16 months, offered once a year starting in summer semester (half of cohort will get fall or summer off). It is a full face-to-face program with live classes, a hands-on skills lab and community clinical experiences within the state of Utah.

麻豆果冻视频 Department of Nursing (DON) offers a wide range of hands-on clinical experiences in various settings such as; Long Term Care (LTC), Home Health & Hospice (HHH), acute care hospitals, critical care settings, community health and specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics and maternal/newborn. This is a full-time program and may require nights and/or weekend clinic attendance.

Graduation from this program enables students to continue their education into a post-graduate masters or doctoral program. Our program is a CCNE accredited Baccalaureate Nursing program with an outstanding NCLEX pass rate.

The Health Professional (HP) to BSN program is for licensed health professionals to complete their bachelor degree in nursing. A Health Professional can be but not limited to:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Paramedic
  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Athletic Trainer
  • Military Medic

Application deadline is by noon on the first Wednesday of December, students start in May/Summer semester.  Applicants are notified in late January of their application status.

We look forward to working with you in completing your admissions application and offer the following guidelines to insure proper processing. 

麻豆果冻视频 Department of Nursing admission is competitive and based on review of all application materials.  Minimum requirements to apply for admission include the following:

  • Completed online admission application for HP (Health Professional) to BSN option.
  • Completion of ALL pre-requisites; including Core Course Requirements, Knowledge Area Requirements, & Required Support Courses. Students can be enrolled in a maximum of 18 nursing prerequisites when submitting their application.1
  • Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all “Required Support Courses” with no course grade less than a C (C- is not acceptable).
  • Completed “Department of Nursing Advisement Sheet" signed by applicant and adviser. Consult with 麻豆果冻视频, College of Health Sciences Student Success Advisor (as listed Academic Advisors)  as a part of your on-line application.
  • Copy of your LPN license, Paramedic Certificate,  or other included in your online application documentation.  If in process, a copy must be submitted by the first Friday of September.
  • $40.00 non-refundable nursing application fee as part of the online application.

1Students who are finishing pre-requisite courses during the semester they apply to the Nursing Program will need to submit their final grade report to the Department of Nursing by 12:00 pm, Friday of the week grades are posted.

Please note that meeting the above requirements does not guarantee admission. From the applicants who meet minimum requirements, those who appear to be best qualified will be admitted.   The goal of the Admissions and Advancement Committee is to select the most capable students. GPA and course grades are carefully scrutinized and are an important part of the application process.  The application package assists us in evaluating these qualities. We expect applicants to be courteous, respectful, truthful, and professional at all times.

Applications and all required documentation need to be submitted to the Department of Nursing ON or BEFORE 12:00PM, December 3, 2025, to be considered for the 2026 program (Applications submitted/completed after this deadline will NOT be considered for admission to the program until the following year). 

The selective admission process for HP (Health Professional) to BSN students is once per year, Summer semester. Applicants are notified of the committee decision by mail, mid to late January. All decisions by the Nursing Admissions and Advancement Committee are final and may not be appealed.
