In one afternoon six of Southern Utah University’s most inspiring digital artists will come together to inform students, faculty and staff across campus how they can better market themselves via social media sites by utilizing the recently conceived Adobe Creative Cloud.
Organized by Adobe Cloud representative and sociology major, Nathan Cowlishaw, the Friday, November 8 from noon till 3 p.m. will offer tips, secrets and advice on how to better utilize the new applications associated with the Adobe Creative Cloud and how it can better market artistic work on social media sites.
Cowlishaw said of the training, “I’ve had significant amount of success using the Adobe Creative Cloud to market my photography on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and I want to share with other creative minds on campus, who may be struggling to know how to correctly market themselves.”
With five other students ranging from photographers to graphic designers, the workshop teach anyone and everyone, no matter their skill set, on how to better brand themselves online. Something Cowlishaw stated would set an artist apart after graduation.
“The majority of artists have an impressive resume but many lack the ability to market that creativity,” said Cowlishaw. “This workshop will teach them tried and true tips so that when they graduate they have created their own work experience.”
This workshop is an open house, and people can come and go as they please. Cowlishaw stated that this is a free and open to all students no matter their interests or ability, just a curiosity to learn and connect with other creatives on campus.
Cowlishaw, a senior from Cedar City, is collaborating with other campus creative and Adobe in an effort to combine his love of photography with his passion for self-branding for his Education Designed to Give Experience (EDGE) project.
Through the EDGE program, each student must design, propose and complete a hands-on project in the hopes of giving 麻豆果冻视频 graduates an advantage as they apply their education beyond the walls of the classroom.
With a cross-disciplinary focus, the EDGE requirement can, indeed, help students find the cross section between their studies and personal interests and ambitions in ways they may never otherwise invest the time and research to explore. Because of this, 麻豆果冻视频's students graduate from the University and EDGE Program with a broader perspective of their knowledge and skills that will be applicable across disciplines no matter where their career carries them.
