If you're looking to spend more time outside, but need something a little less strenuous than hiking or rock climbing, then consider trying out one of the paved walking trails in Cedar City.

Cedar City’s Paved Walking Trails

Park Discovery Trail

is a half-mile trail that winds around and through a beautiful park and unique. With swings, a picnic pavilion, an amphitheater, a unique jungle gym and benches, a walk around this park is ideal for young families. Park at the School District Office or Cedar Middle School parking areas.

Coal Creek Trail

is 3.4 miles long and offers a longer route that starts at Cedar City’s Bicentennial Park. It runs through the East Canyon Park and continues up Cedar Canyon. The length and variety offered by this trail are perfect for those who are looking for a more challenging walk. If you would like less, start at any point along the trail and come back when you are ready. This trail also includes drinking fountains and benches with scenic views.

East Bench Trail

Another longer trail at 2.65 miles, the splits off of the Coal Creek Trail and crosses Squaw Creek, following the east foothills of Cedar City. The creek is also a , so trail goers may also try to catch a bite as well. The trail system is available to walkers, hikers, runners and bicyclists.

Cross Hollow Trail

is a mile long, pet-friendly trail. Although the Cross Hollow Trail offers views of mountains, hills, and lava rock it is also near a busy road so pedestrians can enjoy the energy of the city as they walk.

Sunset Trail in Cedar Breaks National Monument 

Cedar Breaks National Monument is known for its breathtaking views and beautiful hikes, but there is also a and provides a view of surrounding meadows and forests along the way. The path runs between Point Supreme Overlook and Sunset overlook and passes through the Point Supreme picnic area and campground.
